So I read this article last week that kinda called me out in a good way. It was all about how introverts (🙋♀️) might actually benefit from acting like extroverts every now and then. Not all the time. Just enough to remind ourselves that connection doesn’t have to feel like a performance.
The writer of the article (also an introvert) signed up for improv classes and hated every second of it.. until she didn’t. Here’s what surprised her most: acting extroverted occasionally made her feel more like herself, not less.
(Wait, what???)
I’m definitely not about to join an improv class anytime soon — or ever tbh — but I *have* noticed those rare moments when I step outside my comfort zone a bit.
Whether I’m talking with a stranger or joining a new group, I almost always leave feeling a little lighter, which just goes to show — sometimes the good feeling comes after the action.
Kinda like working out, or studying, or cleaning the house — you dread it, overthink it, avoid it, and then afterward.. you’re like: Okay fine, that wasn’t so bad.
Anyway. Just wanted to share this sweet lil reminder for my fellow introverts. Here’s to a beautiful month ahead <3
5 Good Things
The article I mentioned earlier. Totally worth the read.
I’ve been curious about shadow work but haven’t quite prioritized it, but this mix of light & deep journaling prompts is a great place to start.
Obsessed with these designs 🤤
Miles Davis popped off with this quote.
My recent favorite podcast episode from this week featuring my two fave valley girls.
Thanks for hanging out. Same time next week?
