Food, duh. 😋
Welcome to the third edition of Monthly Mixes!
This time, I’m bringing you the September edition—a collection of the issues I’ve written, my favorite recommendations from the month, and a few fun memes & graphics.
If you're new here, I’m Millie! Monthly Mixes is my monthly recap where I reflect on the month’s highlights and share my top moments. It’s one of my favorite things to do because it helps me look back and appreciate what each month brought. While I recognize it might be more fun for me than anyone else, I sincerely hope you find something in here that resonates with you too.
HAPPY FALL, Y’ALL 🍂
Sorry I couldn’t help it.
Fall has quickly become one of my favorite seasons. There’s something magical about the cozy vibes, the crisp air, and all the little changes that come with it.
Speaking of change, September was full of it for me. I got a new haircut (who dis?), started a new workout plan, and have some exciting news that I’ll share later on 🤭
We also had our family pictures done at JCPenney’s, and while the kids looked amazing and behaved perfectly (🙌🏼), my husband and I weren’t as thrilled with how we turned out…
Anyway, we’ll be wrapping up the month (and Q3) by celebrating his birthday this weekend, which feels like the perfect way to close things out!
In case you missed it, here are the issues I shared this month:
Something you NEED to hear ✨
Plus more listens for your ears (aka the one thing keeping me sane) 🎧
Living it up in my cozy motherhood era & tips for enjoying where you’re at 🫶🏼
These are items I've loved or discovered recently that I think you might enjoy too…
Cup: This is my go-to cup for everything except water. Electrolytes, iced lattes, smoothies—you name it. It’s especially perfect for someone with kids, thanks to its twist lid that keeps everything securely inside.
Lamp: I saw this cutie lamp in an Instagram reel and would love to have in our home somewhere. It’s so edgy and adds a touch of weirdness. But would I purchase it for $199? Uhhh… 😗
Pouch: I wish I bought these sooner! These mesh zipper pouches are the perfect organizers for just about anything. I currently use them to keep all the kids' stuff organized in my car, as well as for my daughter’s painting and coloring supplies. I’ve even used them for clothes when my kids sleep over at their grandma’s.
Read/Watch/Listen
Article: I’ve never been a big drinker, so this article really resonated with me. I’m not against drinking, but I believe that not every moment of connection needs to involve alcohol (or any vice, for that matter). Being your true, sober self is just as beautiful, even without the “liquid courage” to back it up.
Show: I might be a bit late to the party on this one, but I highly recommend it. It was hard not to binge-watch this show as every episode left you in an "oh shit, what now?” kinda feeling. I enjoyed season one more than season two, but definitely watch both to get the full story.
Movie: Channing Tatum does an amazing job in this movie. TW: there are scenes that might be hard to watch for some viewers. Overall, though, it’s a great film directed and written by Zoe Kravitz.
Album: After hearing Katy Perry’s interview on Call Her Daddy, I couldn’t wait for her new album to drop. I’ve listened to it nonstop since its release!
I’m so excited for what’s to come in October, but for now, I’m cherishing these last moments of September. Thanks for following along this month—I hope you found something that made you smile! As always, feel free to share your highlights or thoughts from the month with me!
And hey! A friendly reminder: you’re doing better than you think you are 😉
